| The laboratory was founded in 1980 and its research field is molecular developmental biology of mammal. One of the important projects(supported by '863' program) in this laboratory was to produce transgenic animals with growth hormone gene from different animals. The studies were performed on integration, location, expression and regulation of foreign gene in transgenic animals. Another project(supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China) is the isolation, purification and characterization of 3β,20α-Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase(3β,20α-HSD) and its gene cloning. 3β,20α-HSD exists just in fetal blood. When the baby was born, the 3β,20α-HSD disappeared soon from its blood. It is clear that the 3β,20α-HSD has certain relationship with the development of the early embryo. To study the molecular mechanism of 3β.20α-HSD in the embryo is the main subject in this lab. Cloning of the goat estrus-associated oviductual glycoprotein(gEGP) gene is one of interesting project in this lab and a part of gEGP gene has been cloned. A new project was started last year,that is“studies on dispelling differentiation, reprogramming and developmental totipotency of transplanted nucleus in the cytoplasm of oocyte”,which was supported by the Major State Basic Research Development Program(called '973').More recetly,some interesting data were obtained with DDRT-PCR method and some differential fragments were identified which just appeared in the early stage of developmental embryo. The further studies of the differential fragments are carrying out. They are more interested in study of molecular mechanism of aging and anti-aging. In preparing the studies, “SAM” mice were imported from Japan last year. They have got some support for this field studies from “Ling Tai Chinese Traditional Medicine Company”and the studies will be started recently. |
